SANePLAN, in reference events in Spain and Italy

April 19th, 2016 - The SANePLAN project technical team has been present in several reference events setting out to make the work known among the public at large, and among the key players and users targeted by this initiative.

On 15th and 16th February last, engineers at the Galicia Institute of Technology (ITG) attended TRANSFER in Malaga: the "European Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation". This is the reference I&D+i event in Spain, with more than 3,000 participants, 45 stands, 500 companies and institutions registered in this latest edition.

Lucia Garabato Gándara and Vanessa Ros Candeira, Civil, Canals and Ports Engineers, have been responsible for presenting SANePLAN during networking meetings and all visitors passed by the ITG stand.

In Italy, the divulging work was held at the seminar "Hydraulic land management in urban areas: modelling, prevention and maintenance", held on 14th and 15th April in the city of Florence.

Professor at the University of Florence, Claudio Lubello, spoke about the project SANePLAN within the session "Greenhouse gas emissions in sanitation systems." Its implementation in the municipality of Chiesina Uzzanese has contributed to a better understanding of the network topology and operation of the same thanks to the modeling, it has led to an improvement in incident management besides a better understanding of the costs and greenhouse gas involved in the sanitation of this municipality.
