30/06/2015 – Today, the SANePLAN Project Manager, Mr. Juan Luis Sobreira Seoane, attended as speaker in the “Experiences and Perspectives of Innovation in the Water Sector” Conference held at the Auditorium of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA) of the Spanish Government.
The event was opened by the Director General of Water of the MAGRAMA, Mrs. Liana Sandra Ardiles, and by Mr. Antolin Aldonza, President of the Spanish Water Technological Platform (PTEA).
Talks on financing the water sector were given by leading officials of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO):
- Mrs. Adela MartĂn, Deputy General Director of Business Development and Competitiveness
- Mrs. Nuria Diaz Ranz, Technical Advisor of the Subdirectorate General for Development of Business Innovation
- Mrs. Lydia González, from the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI)
Subsequently, they presented three successful cases in the field of water with some public credit lines for R+D+I. The first of these successful cases, WIZ, was presented by the Director of the SANEPLAN project. A project that dealt with urban planning and the management of drinking water in Italy and Spain, which was awarded by the European Commission as the Best Project of 2014 call for LIFE.
In accordance with Sobreira, this was a project whose “planning has been moved to sanitation field and management within the SANEPLAN project, on the basis of the same principles and lessons learned during the 3 years of its implementation”.
